Yes. If you are on a train from Geneva or Lausanne change to a local train at Montreux. If you are travelling from Sion you can take a local train to Le Bouveret on Lac Leman and take a CGN boat. Or take a train to Montreux and change on to the local line. You can take a CGN ferry from many places on the shores of Lac Leman. You can walk along the lakeside from Villeneuve (also a ferry stop), it’s not far, and there is probably a bus. Parking at the Chateau is limited,

Yes, we arrived as they were about to open, and simply passed the place and parked in the roadside parking lot. It didn't appear to have a lot of spaces, but being early we fit no problem. No payment was required. There are also some spots across the street, ON the street, perpendicular to moving traffic.
