Trade season doesn't start in earnest until after the All-Star break, but with just over six weeks until the trade deadline, it's officially trade rumors season.

The 2025 MLB trade deadline is more than a month away, but speculation about where the top available players could end up come July 31 is ramping up. In his latest round-up predicting where this year’s prime trade candidates will end up, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com links two players to the Mets.

At first blush, one might not consider the Kansas City Royals as one of the teams that should be buyers ahead of the deadline. The Royals currently sit in fourth place in the AL Central, 11 games behind the Detroit Tigers in the loss column and 11.5 games back in the division.
