Members of the Boston Red Sox took advantage of an off day in Washington, D.C., to meet President Donald Trump in the White House on Thursday.

Asked for comment about the visit, a Red Sox spokesperson said the team toured the White House on Thursday as part of their family road trip to Washington, D.C. The Red Sox are in Washington this weekend for a three-game series against the Washington Nationals, which begins on Friday. First pitch for Friday’s opener is scheduled for 11 a.m.
