New York Mets right-hander Frankie Montas will miss the rest of the season because of a right elbow injury that could lead to Tommy John surgery.

The righthander, who signed a two-year, $34 million contract in the offseason, has pretty significant damage to the right UCL.

The Mets placed right-hander Frankie Montas on the 15-day IL on Saturday with a UCL injury in his right elbow. In a corresponding move, the club recalled right-hander Huascar Brazobán from Triple-A Syracuse.
