Justice Department officials meet with lawyers for Jeffrey Epstein’s former associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted in connection with sex trafficking case.

President Donald Trump’s effort to unseal Jeffrey Epstein-related grand jury transcripts has hit a temporary roadblock. The federal judge overseeing the Trump administration’s request to unseal records from Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell’s criminal case said Tuesday that the DOJ’s filing “does not adequately address” several factors the court must weigh when considering the disclosure of secret grand jury materials.

The Department of Justice said Tuesday it has reached out to Jeffrey Epstein’s former associate Ghislaine Maxwell for a meeting amid backlash over the administration’s handling of files related to Epstein.

President Donald Trump on Friday did not answer when asked about possible clemency for Ghislaine Maxwell, saying it is an ongoing investigation. Maxwell is a longtime associate of wealthy financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
