The Green Lake County sheriff is debunking a viral TitkTok video some think shows a missing Watertown man suspected of staging his death in August.

A video circulating on social media has thousands of users believing it shows the missing Green Lake County kayaker who allegedly faked his death and fled the country, but deputies are debunking that claim.

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on a kayaker who was reported missing on Aug. 12. The missing man, 45-year-old Ryan Borgwardt, was not found but has been deemed to be not in the lake and is reportedly on the run.
