Hours before a massive wall of floodwater barreled down a river in the heart of Texas Hill Country before sunrise on Friday, forecasters with the National Weather Service warned people that dangerous conditions were brewing.

Heavy rain poured over parts of central Texas, dumping more than a month's worth of rain for places like San Angelo.

So far, 27 people have been confirmed dead in Kerr County, Texas after severe flooding along the Guadalupe River. Here are photos of the devastation.
