Pakistan's military is claiming to have shot down five Indian fighter jets following airstrikes against the country that are being described as an "act of war."

India fired missiles into Pakistani-controlled territory in several locations early Wednesday, killing at least 26 people including a child, in what Pakistan’s leader called an act of war.

Tension between the nuclear-armed nations is soaring. Pakistan's Shehbaz Sharif has vowed to retaliate after Indian strikes killed more than two dozen people.
