Pella, who won its first-ever Iowa high school state softball title on Thursday night in Fort Dodge, claimed the Class 3A baseball crown over Dubuque Wahlert, 3-1, in Sioux City. That is also the first baseball title for the program.

Here are some of the top performances from the four Iowa high school state baseball championship games: Jaxton Schroeder, Iowa City High: Schroeder struck out eight, allowing just four hits on the hill. Drew Nye, Iowa City High: Nye drove in two runs with a hit. Talon Young, Iowa City High: Young had two hits, driving in a run for the Little Hawks.

Clarksville held off Wayne to claim the Class 1A championship at the Iowa high school softball state tournament on July 25.
