The S & P 500 hit an all-time record high on Friday, extending breakneck gains achieved in recent weeks as investors shrugged off concerns about newly imposed tariffs and war in the Middle East. The S & P 500 climbed 0.3%, clocking in for the first time ever at 6,156.

The US stock market on Friday hit an all-time high, its first since mid-February. It marked the culmination of a remarkable recovery on Wall Street since flirting with bear market territory in early April.

The S&P 500 (^GSPC) flirted with all-time highs but ended the day nearly flat, just shy of its record level. Nvidia shares rose over 4% to end Wednesday's trading session above $154, notching a new record high.
