The Trump administration said that it has sent to Congress its proposal to roll back $1.1 billion in funding allocated to public media stations, NPR and PBS, continuing the president’s effort to punish mainstream media.

NPR and three Colorado public radio stations are suing the Trump administration over the president's executive order seeking to ban the use of federal money for NPR and PBS.

The request includes blocking funding to combat HIV/AIDS, U.S. contributions to the World Health Organization and provide media services to U.S. consumers.
