Rickie Fowler is contending so far at the Truist Championship after a scorching round of 63 on Thursday at The Philadelphia Cricket Club.

Rickie Fowler reached back 10 years deep in the memory bank when asked Thursday afternoon about the mixed reaction to his invitation to next week’s PGA Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte. This isn’t the Fowler of 2015.

Fowler is coming off a disappointing season by his standards, especially after winning in 2023 and being selected for the U.S. Ryder Cup team. When asked to grade his 2024 season on the “Son of a Butch” podcast, hosted by Butch’s son, Claude Harmon III, Fowler didn’t sugarcoat it: “About an F,” he said.
