The chief of security for South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol said on Sunday he could not cooperate with efforts to arrest the impeached leader, in remarks that could push the political crisis towards another high-stakes confrontation.

The one-week warrant for his detention is valid through Monday. There were no immediate indications that authorities were ready to send investigators back to the residence as of Sunday afternoon.

South Korea’s anti-corruption agency was unable to bring Yoon to custody following a standoff with the security service of the suspended president last week.
