The three to five inches of snow that's blanketed the South Bend area since Wednesday afternoon is just the start of a bad stretch of winter weather that will extend through the weekend and into next week.

Snowfall is most likely Friday afternoon and evening, according to the Milwaukee-Sullivan National Weather Service office.
