She is the curator of the azalea (and rhododendron) collection at the U.S. National Arboretum and spends much of her winter renovating overgrown shrubs.

LINVILLE – The rare pink-shell azalea is now in bloom on Grandfather Mountain, offering visitors access to a shrub native to only a few Western North Carolina counties.
