BOSTON -- Anthony Cirelli scored twice, and the Tampa Bay Lightning snapped a three-game skid with a 6-2 win against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Saturday. Nick Paul, Victor Hedman and Darren Raddysh each had a goal and an assist for the Lightning (38-23-5), who had lost four of six. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 10 saves.

Anthony Cirelli scored twice and the Tampa Bay Lightning held Boston without a shot in the second period in a 6-2 victory over the Bruins 6-2 on Saturday night.

The Bruins entered first intermission knotted 1-1, but were outclassed in the second period, failing to register a shot on goal.

For the second straight game the Bruins couldn’t overcome a dreadful period — this time it was the second — and lost to the Lightning, 6-2, Saturday night at TD Garden. Boston was outshot, 20-0, in the second period and fell behind, 4-1, in falling to 30-30-8 on the season.

Boston was outshot 21-0 in the second period. It was the Bruins' second period this season without a shot on goal. Before that, they hadn’t had a period without one since 2007. The Bruins finished with 12 shots on goal, to 40 for the Lightning.

In an almost comically dominant second period, the Lightning scored three straight goals and cruised to a 6-2 win. The B’s played pretty well in the first period and not bad in the third period, but that second period – when the Bolts held a 20-0 shot advantage – was a doozy.
