The Wilmington Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that left a 17-year-old male injured on Saturday afternoon. Authorities responded to the incident at approximately 4:23 p.m.

Wilmington has been around for nearly 300 years, but most of its neighborhoods are nowhere near that old. The names for the Soda Pop and Cargo districts, for example, were coined just this century.
