Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers credits Sue Bird's mentorship and legacy as her guiding inspiration in the WNBA.

Bueckers and the Wings (9-26) secured a big-time road win over the Indiana Fever last Tuesday, without All-Star guard Arike Ogunbowale. However, Dallas then suffered a one-point home loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday -- followed by a 106-87 defeat to the Aces in Las Vegas.

Paige Bueckers has put together an impressive rookie season, earning an All-Star starting spot while averaging 18.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. But despite her early success, the Dallas Wings have struggled, sitting at 9-26 and on the verge of missing the playoffs for the second straight year.

In addition to her assist record, Bueckers also reached 500 career points on Friday, becoming the 22nd rookie to accomplish that feat. No one in Wings franchise history has gotten to 500 points faster than Bueckers, who needed just 27 games to hit the milestone.
