Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham rolled her ankle during her team's May 10 WNBA preseason game against the Atlanta Dream. It remains to be seen whether Cunningham will be available to play during the Fever's WNBA season opener against the Chicago Sky on May 17.

Another key addition the Fever made is veteran Natasha Howard, a forward who averaged 17.6 points and 6.7 rebounds a game last year with the Dallas Wings. She, along with rookie Makayla Timpson, should greatly boost Indiana's depth and firepower up front.

The team added former WNBA All-Stars DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard, two-time WNBA champion Sydney Colson, and Brianna Turner all in free agency. Rookie Makayla Timpson, the 19th-overall pick out of Florida State, also made the 11-player opening day roster.
