The Republican-controlled House passed a bill that would solidify President Donald Trump’s move to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

Washington — The House is expected to vote Thursday on a bill to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the "Gulf of America," which would codify an executive order signed by President Trump on his second day in office.

The legislation was all but certain to die in the Senate, but the move put the Republican-led House on the record supporting President Trump’s nomenclature.
