McDonald's turns up the heat up with a new twist on McMuffins. Is it the wake-up call we desperately need, or should we hit the snooze button on this sandwich?

After nearly a decade, McDonald's announced the return of the Snack Wrap, one of McDonald's new McCrispy Strips topped with shredded lettuce and shredded cheese, wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. They're available in either Spicy (with a habanero kick) or Ranch (with Ranch dressing and hints of garlic and onion).

The Daily Double, available now nationwide, is made with two beef patties, a slice of American cheese plus shredded lettuce, slivered onions, mayo and two tomato slices. The burger had been available in limited markets including Chicago, Miami and Seattle, but will be available nationally through 2025, the company said.

McDonald’s has announced three new limited-time breakfast menu items that kick up the heat: a Spicy McMuffin, Spicy Sausage McMuffin, and a Spicy Sausage McMuffin with Egg. Each will feature the usual ingredients for the long-time fast-food breakfast option, but will also come with a Spicy Pepper Sauce.

And McDonald's isn't stopping with the standard Spicy McMuffin. Its new limited-time breakfast offerings also include a Spicy Sausage McMuffin and Spicy Sausage McMuffin with Egg.

With prices up and foot traffic down, the fast-food giant — and Long Island franchise owners — hope familiar favorites will bring diners back.
