A Milford student athlete arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement over the weekend said the first thing he wanted to do when he got home after his release Thursday was hug his dog. Marcelo Gomes Da Silva,

Hanging out of the car with excitement, Marcelo Gomes da Silva couldn’t wait to return home to Milford on Thursday after spending six days in ICE custody. “The only thing I wanted to do when I got back here was hug my parents, my dad, yeah, my dad means the world to me,” said Marcelo Gomes da Silva.

After his release, the teen described having to stay in the Burlington office facility for six days, sleeping on a concrete floor with a mylar blanket, in an open room with a toilet and no privacy.
