PHILADELPHIA — Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders suffered an oblique injury during Wednesday’s joint practice against the Eagles, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Cleveland rookie left early with an injury but made sure to seek out Hurts afterward. They had a "lengthy" talk, Hurts said.

The Browns took Sanders in the fifth round this spring after his draft-weekend free-fall. The son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has become a lightning rod after his time playing for his father at Jackson State and Colorado. And it shocked many to see him fall into Day 3 after garnering first-round buzz.
