Blumhouse is in talks to acquire the rights to Twisted Pictures' portion of the "Saw" horror film franchise, according to media reports. Lionsgate owns 50% of the franchise and will continue to be involved as a partner.

If a deal makes, then James Wan, who directed the first movie and launched the horror franchise with Leigh Whannel, would get an ownership stake in his creation.
