Journalism or Sovereignty? Jody Demling, who has nailed four of the last seven Belmont Stakes winners, just revealed his 2025 Belmont Stakes picks for Saturday, June 7 at Saratoga Race Course

The Belmont Stakes will be contested at Saratoga Race Course for the second straight year due to renovations at Belmont Park. Journalism and Sovereignty, the winners of the first two Triple Crown races, are the headliners in the eight-horse field. One of those two horses is expected to win given how strong each of them have looked in 2025.

1. Rodriguez: This year’s Belmont Stakes (at Saratoga) has been billed as a rematch between Sovereignty, the Kentucky Derby champ and Journalism, the Preakness winner. Last year, Dornoch sped to the lead and held on at a hefty price. As far as I know, this handicapper is the only “expert” to pick the Belmont winner at Saratoga. Ever!
