There were 19 new confirmed cases of measles in Alberta over the past 24 hours, resulting in the province surpassing a total of 500 cases of the virus since early March.

Manitoba is under threat as it faces a surge in measles cases, marking the province’s most substantial outbreak in decades.

The fist case was detected in Manitoba in February and now the province is reporting 60 cases. The virus is highly transmissible and symptoms often don't appear for a few days.
