Lt. James L. Doolittle began his record-setting cross country flight on the beach at Neptune on September 4, 1922 at 10 p.m., with nothing but kerosene lanterns lighting the beach for takeoff.

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. – Neptune Beach is looking at adding speed cameras to school zones. If approved, drivers could get a $100 ticket if they are caught going 10 miles per hour over the speed limit.
