WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republicans on Monday proposed deeper Medicaid cuts, including new work requirements for parents of teens, as a way to offset the costs of making President Donald Trump’s tax breaks more permanent in draft legislation unveiled for his “big, beautiful bill.”

The Senate Finance Committee unveiled its portion of Mr. Trump's "big, beautiful bill," which makes changes to the tax and Medicaid provisions in the version that narrowly passed the House last month.

Senate Republicans are proposing deeper cuts to Medicaid than the House of Representatives' recently passed budget bill to help pay for President Donald Trump's major tax cuts under a budget plan released on June 16.
