ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) warned against more rains and cloudburst incidents in northern parts of Pakistan as death toll during the current monsoon season reached 657 while 929 injured in various incidents across country.

Monsoon rains and flash floods kill 400+ across Pakistan, destroying homes and infrastructure as rescue efforts continue.

Deputy Commissioner Swabi, Nasrullah Khan, said, “In Dalori Bala alone, 20 people have died, including women, children, and the elderly. The total death toll in the area has reached 25. At last report, ten bodies and six injured were recovered.”

Heavier than usual rains and sudden cloudbursts during this monsoon season kill more than 300 people in recent days.

Sudden floods triggered by heavy rains have killed more than 200 people across parts of Pakistan, India-administered Kashmir and Nepal, authorities have said, as scores of people remain missing.

Torrential rains in northern Pakistan since Thursday have caused flooding and landslides that have swept away entire villages, with around 200 people still missing. And authorities have warned of fresh flash floods in the coming days.

SWABI: A powerful cloudburst followed by landslides struck Swabi district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday, causing widespread destruction. Homes were swept away and many residents displaced, according to local officials.
