This week, a federal judge sided with Harvard in one of its two lawsuits, blocking an order by President Trump to prevent international students from enrolling.

Some Harvard sports teams might struggle to field teams without foreign students. Not long after President Donald Trump’s first attempt to bar Harvard from enrolling international students last month, the school’s men’s soccer team, along with athletic teams all over campus, received a note from the coaching staff.

A group of 18 leading US research universities, including Princeton, MIT, Caltech and Johns Hopkins, asked a federal judge for permission to file legal arguments in support of Harvard University in its high-stakes showdown with the Trump administration over more than $2 billion in frozen grant money.
