If you got an early wake-up call Thursday from the broken line of thunderstorms that pushed through Southeast Texas, that system - which also had prompted a tornado watch Wednesday afternoon north of Houston - is not out of our hair just yet.

A powerful line of storms is expected to sweep through the Houston area Friday, bringing the risk of large hail and damaging wind gusts.

A Severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 p.m. northwest of Huntsville and Houston that includes College Station, Waco and Austin.
