The latest disaster declaration will help Kentucky recover after an EF-4 tornado and other severe weather ripped through the state in May.

Two-dozen more counties have been approved for individual assistance after flooding, including some right here in the Tri-State. Previously, Hopkins County was the only local county that could receive FEMA assistance.

Governor Andy Beshear announced via a Facebook post that the Trump administration has approved an initial request for Individual Assistance for six counties following the tornadoes on May 17.
