India will be the global production hub for Suzuki Motor's electric cars and it plans to export the vehicles back to Japan as well as other markets, such as Europe, despite a slowdown in sales of EVs,

NEW DELHI -- Suzuki Motor, the parent of India's biggest automaker, is out to take the lead in electric-vehicle market share here, President Toshihiro Suzuki said Thursday. The Japanese company plans to expand production capacity to turn India into a hub for exports to Europe, Japan, Africa, Southeast Asia and elsewhere, according to the president.

Toshihiro Suzuki, President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, says nationality isn't a barrier for leadership at Maruti Suzuki India or Suzuki Japan, highlighting the growing importance of the Indian market.
