The first Texas Rangers position player to land on the injured list this season is one who’s already seen far too much of it in his young career. The Rangers placed third baseman Josh Jung on the 10-day injured list Sunday after his recurring neck spasms did not subside.

The Texas Rangers will finish their season-opening homestand against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday and send Josh Jung to the injury list.

Josh Jung was out of the Texas Rangers lineup Saturday because of neck spasms in another early-season setback for the third baseman. Manager Bruce Bochy said Jung was “going to need a few days” to let the spasms calm,
