According to a Metra social media post, BNSF train #1276 was traveling inbound from the western suburbs to Union Station when the incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. near Prairie Avenue and Burlington Avenue.

Metra BNSF line trains have been halted in both directions late Friday afternoon after a pedestrian was struck by a train near the Brookfield station, Metra officials said.
