A dangerous heat wave is expected to scorch Chicago beginning Wednesday. A heat advisory has been issued from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 10 p.m. Thursday for the greater Chicago area for heat indices of 100 to 110 degrees.
The heat index is expected to hit 105 to 115 degrees in the metro area on Wednesday. The setting sun won't provide much relief — temperatures will likely remain above 90 degrees into the evening hours.
