Detroit Lions' Jared Goff, Dan Campbell picked as finalists for top NFL awards to be announced Feb. 6 in New Orleans.

After a surprising playoff exit, the Detroit Lions begin their rebuild with a key addition to bolster their offense.

Randle El, who played nine seasons as a receiver in the NFL, joined coach Dan Campbell's staff as the WR coach after two years as an offensive assistant with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Lions won a franchise-record 15 games in 2024 but were upset 45–31 by the Washington Commanders in the divisional round last weekend.

Ben Johnson is making progress building his staff two days after he was introduced as coach of the Chicago Bears. The former Lions offensive coordinator is bringing two assistants with him from Detroit.

Randle El, a product of Thornton Township High School, has spent the last four seasons coaching star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
