The New England Patriots traded second-year QB Joe Milton and a 7th-round draft pick to the Cowboys on Monday in exchange for a 5th-round pick. Before the trade, however, several teams inquired about Milton, including the Eagles.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the Pats put Milton on the market after signing Josh Dobbs to be Drake Maye's backup earlier this offseason. Rapoport also noted the Cowboys were "the most interested from the outset" of all the potential suitors.
Milton turned heads during the lead-up to the 2024 NFL draft with his incredibly powerful arm. The Patriots selected the former Tennessee signal-caller in the sixth round after drafting Maye with the No. 3 overall pick.
