Astros GM Dana Brown was asked on Monday about Alvarez’s return and provided an optimistic outlook, "If things go well, it could be next homestand. I haven’t ruled out potentially flying him to L.A. at some point this weekend. That’s an outside chance. That’s very optimistic. … I don’t think he needs much more time."

Yordan Alvarez suffered a setback in West Palm Beach, Dana Brown said. He reported hand soreness after taking some swings on Monday and has been shut down. Alvarez will see a specialist in the next 48 hours, after which the Astros hope to know more.

The Rockies remain historically bad. They did, however, pick up a win Sunday in eleven innings in Milwaukee to snap a five-game losing streak. Colorado rallied with a run in the ninth on an Orlando Arcia home run and won it on a Kyle Farmer single in the eleventh.
