The United States and Guatemala will go head-to-head for the first time in almost a decade in the Concacaf Gold Cup semifinals on Wednesday.

The United States looks to build off its strong effort in group play at the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup, hoping to punch the country’s ticket back to the semifinals when it faces Costa Rica on Sunday night.

Damion Downs scored in the sixth round of a shootout after three saves by Matt Freese, sending the U.S. to the semifinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup with a 4-3 penalty-kicks win over Costa Rica after a a 2-2 tie.
