The Friends of the Villa Montezuma, Inc. (FOVM) is a 501-c-3 organization solely devoted to the magnificent Villa Montezuma, San Diego’s amazing Queen Anne Victorian house museum and cultural center.

Villa Montezuma is a Queen Anne style mansion in the Sherman Heights neighborhood of San Diego, California, that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. [1]

• 1970: the Villa is designated as a City of San Diego Historical Site. • 1971: The City of San Diego takes over ownership of the Villa and the San Diego Historical Society restores and operates it as a museum.

You can see the magnificent, mysterious Villa Montezuma Museum on most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays with guided docent tours at 1:00, 2:15, and 3:30 P.M. (all tours are guided). Tours are one hour long.

A N ICON OF THE HISTORIC Sherman Heights neighborhood, the 1887 Villa Montezuma is one of San Diego's most beloved grand Victorian-era residences. It was saved in the 1960s from imminent demolition by Save Our Heritage Organisation (SOHO) with members from the San Diego Historical Society.

The Villa Montezuma is a magnificent Queen Anne Victorian mansion located in the Sherman Heights Historic District just off the 5 freeway, near downtown San Diego, California. On the National Register of Historic Places, the Villa Montezuma, aka the Jesse Shepard House, was built in 1887 by master architects Comstock and Trotsche.

Villa Montezuma is both a vestige of San Diego's boomtown days and a testimony to the eccentric genius who built it. The house showcases highlights of the ornate Queen Anne/Late Victorian style of architecture with colonnades, towers and imposing facades.
