Got an Xterra to 275k miles, and did radiator at purchase ~75k miles, timing chain tensioners at 100k when they started to whine, camshaft position sensors like 4 times, and rear hatch struts at 200k but they still sucked in the cold. Great write up.

Jeep is redesigning the Cherokee (finally) and with toyogurt bringing the Land Cruiser back, Nissan would be stupid to not revive the Xterra (hopefully on frontier chassis not some unibody junk)....

Feb 7, 2021 · My dad is looking to get an xterra soon, and I'm trying to help him with some research. Although he's not going to be doing anything hardcore, he could face some muddy Kansas roads. As such, I've recommended he have some sort of locking or limited slip differential. He's looking in the 07-12 year range.

Mar 15, 2012 · Thinking of trading in my '08 Tribecca and getting an older Xterra. Something in the '03 - '07 range. Is the Supercharged version that came in the '02 - '04 models (i think) any better/worse than the newer model Xterras? I guess, I'm asking is it worth focusing on trying to find a Supercharged Xterra vs. a regular say '06 - '07 Xterra?

Only at 177k on my 04. She's had an attitude for the past few years. Probably needs the transmission rebuilt for the second time in two years, power steering pump is gone, it's got the strangest electrical gremlins, the gas gauge is giving up the ghost, and the water pump failed and almost cooked the engine early last year.

May 19, 2019 · I bought a ‘12 Xterra a couple weeks back which had a squishy brake pedal. I did some reading and found that it’s related to abs. Today I was driving on some dirt roads so I did some hard stops to activate the abs. It made a night and day difference in the pedal feel.
